The premiership of ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson was certainly one of the most apparent in recent years - after winning an extraordinary majority in the 2019 'Snap Election', Johnson delt with the Coronavirus Pandemic and subsequent fallout. Was his time as Prime Minister a success for himself and the Conservative Party, or rather was it marred by scandal and fallout on a scale not seen since the Second World War?
On the Proposition:
Julian Brazil - the Leader of the Liberal Democrats in Devon, served as a Councillor in various capacities since 2005; and,
Paul Millar - Labour Councillor for Exmouth Halsdon in East Devon.
On the Opposition:
The Rt Hon Anne Widdecombe - former Conservative Minister, Shadow Home Secretary, and Brexit Party MEP, turned Author and TV Personality (star of Strictly Come Dancing); and,
Selane Saxby - the Conservative MP for North Devon since 2019, a Parliamentary Private Secretary during the close of Boris Johnson's premiership.
This event is open to all members of the University Community as a free refreshers ('Love Exeter Week') event - so, feel free to invite your freinds. A ticket is required for entry and Student ID may be requested at the venue door.
