About

Pre-event dinners are your opportunity to get to know one of our prestigious speakers over a delicious three-course meal at the Marco Pierre White Restaurant, including wine! This dinner is with David Starkey CBE who is a British historian, author, presenter and political commentator. David is a leading expert on the Tudors, describing the period as “a most glorious and wonderful soap opera”. He has achieved both critical and commercial success through presenting documentaries and publishing books on the period. Appearances on the BBC’s Question Times and Moral Maze in his youth led to the Daily Mail giving him the title of the “rudest man in Britain”. David has been highly critical of mainstream political parties in the UK and is a one-nation conservative and supporter of Disraeli. He has been widely criticised for his comments on race in the UK Guests attending the pre-event dinner are guaranteed a seat on the front benches for the event. Unless otherwise stated, pre-event dinners start at 6:15 PM, meeting in the bar of the Hotel Indigo.
