About

Based around the exciting dance rhythms of Santana’s Latin music, OYE SANTANA is no ordinary tribute to Carlos Santana’s music. More of a party than a concert, this is a feast of Latin music, superb musicianship and hit songs, faithfully re-creating the music of Santana. They bring a powerful and melodic drive to Santana’s Latin rock style, which they play with power, passion and perfection ensuring a fantastic high energy, engaging and fun event. Oye Santana play all the hits including the Grammy award-winning Smooth plus Maria Maria, She’s Not There, Black Magic Woman, Samba Pa Ti, Oye Como Va, Jingo and Corazon Espinado. “…guaranteed to enthrall even the most exacting fan. Superb entertainment.” Brian Harrington, Newbury Weekly News Teignmouth Pavilions rocked to the sound of Latin rhythms as Oye Santana played to a full house, treated to early favourites such as Evil Ways, Soul Sacrifice and Oye Como Va. They also performed hits such as Smooth, Samba Pa Ti and Maria Maria, as well as covers made famous by Santana: Black Magic Woman, and She's Not There. An intensely emotional arrangement of While My Guitar Gently Weeps was perhaps the highlight of the whole evening. The audience was privileged to hear seven musicians, who are technically gifted, full of enthusiasm and show an obvious love for, and keen understanding of, a world-famous band. Ably led by guitarist Milan Webb, they perform with smiles on their faces and passion in their hearts. With two percussionists and a driving bass providing the platform for gifted keyboards and energetic vocalists, they even encouraged dancing in the aisles! Billed as "The best Santana tribute in the world" – anyone listening wouldn't argue with that. Best tribute band in the World? Quite possibly! Ken Holland, Teignmouth Post Arguably the finest band to have played here since The Rolling Stones back in 1963, Oye Santana not only raised the roof, they raised the bar for all future bands that follow them at this iconic venue. Their energy and note-perfect renditions of classic Santana numbers had a packed audience up on their feet to the Latin beat. Will we have them back again…? Too right we will! Paul Endacott, Music Promoter at One Kew Road, Richmond (The original Crawdaddy Club Venue) Santana’s legacy is in the best possible hands. Pete Feenstra, promoter & radio presenter The best tribute band I've seen. Hilary Howard, co-manager, The Railway Venue, Bolton Oye Santana were probably the finest tribute to Santana that I have heard and the musicianship was outstanding. Look no further, Oye Santana are technically brilliant!!!!! Gary.C, owner of The Diamond, Sutton in Ashfield Just saw you at Maidenhead festival. Wow! You were the band of the weekend, you WERE Santana… Stuart Corbitt Santana and his eponymous band have been blending Mexican passion with rock energy since the 1960s: Oye Santana captures that heady blend with uncanny feeling. Yes, they faultlessly reproduced the music; they are accomplished musicians in their own rights. But more than that, they conjured up the atmosphere, the sheer hedonistic abandon to rhythm that lifts Santana from music to passionate maelstrom. This was no pale 'photo copy' of another band …they build a stunning performance. John Hancock, St Ives Times & Echo You came west and were the best! The comments made by those who saw you on Saturday couldn't praise the gig enough. For us we could not have wished for a better start to our run of gigs at the Guildhall St Ives. The professionalism of the band stood out in all aspects of the gig, from the sound check right through to the encore. And, may we say, what a nice bunch of guys. It's true what they say: “Close your eyes and you can't tell the difference” – Oye Santana clearly are one of the Best Tribute Bands Around. And we at Anjen Events look forward to working with you again hopefully in the not too distant future. Andy Percy, Anjen Events, St Ives Guildhall, Cornwal How would I describe Oye Santana… Well, 'fantastic' covers it I think. The band played an amazing set, with all my favourites dutifully covered, and the lead singer, Hector Gomez, managed to get all the ladies in the audience boogieing in the aisles. The real star of the show, though, is Milan 'Carlos' Webb, whose fabulous guitar was the real lasting memory of the evening. Mike Swift, reviewing our December 2013 performance for the Reading Chronicle and its sister papers From the very first enquiry to saying goodbye after the gig, Oye Santana are ultimate professionals. Not only that, the band are superb… brilliant show, stunning musicians who faithfully recreate the sound and atmosphere of Santana. They are all extremely nice guys too. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you are looking for a Santana band, you have just found the very best. Robert Sas, Organizer, Ley Hill Beer Festival Doors at 7 and show at 8:45...
