OUG&S presents Iolanthe: MT Show (Tuesday!)

The clash of the (nineteenth) century - the House of Lords against a court of fairies! Yes indeed, this Michaelmas Term the Oxford University Gilbert & Sullivan Society present Iolanthe, with all the chaotic fun you'd expect! The half-fairy (fairy above the waist, human below) Strephon is in love with the human Phyllis, a ward of the Lord Chancellor of the United Kingdom. By pure coincidence, the entire House of Lords also love Phyllis. Things escalate far out of control, as blue-blooded Lords, sarcastic beefeaters, fairies who perpetually look like young maidens, and (shock and horror) the prospect of Parliamentary reform threaten to drive the whole nation into chaos! From Arcadian beginnings to a thrilling political showdown, come along to our production of Iolanthe!
