About

Join us for a 3.5-mile figure-of-eight walk starting and finishing at Dawlish Warren, taking in lovely coastal scenery then wildlife around the nature reserve, before going for a swim at the usual EUOWSS spot at the first groyne at Dawlish Warren beach. Length and rating: 3.5 miles (Easy) Public Transport: Meet us at St James Park station for the 9:20am train to Dawlish Warren. The train also stops at Exeter Central (9:24), St David's (9:30) and St Thomas (9:33) so feel free to meet us on the train at whichever stop suits you! Before the walk: Remember to wear strong, sturdy hiking boots or shoes. A waterproof layer and sunscreen is also recommended, as well as an extra sweater or hat for warmth. If you have any medical conditions please let our president, Sam, know, and bring any medication which you may need. In case of emergencies during the walk, Sam’s number is 07538 336031. Please do not use this number unless it is an emergency. For general queries please email us at [email protected] or message us on Facebook or Instagram. Before the swim: If you do not want to do the walk but rather just do the swim, take the next train an hour later to meet us at Dawlish Warren. Of Course, make sure you bring your swimming gear, whether that be wetsuits or swimming trunks, and a towel and warm clothes to change into. Hot drinks are advisable, which can be bought from the usual cafe or if you're prepared made in advance! Please make sure you don't stay in longer than you are comfortable for, especially if it is your first time in a while! There will be a safety talk before the swim with more info. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
