Maidencombe to Dawlish Warren

A 9 mile route taking in the majestic Labrador Bay and including a ride on the Teign Ferry before continuing along the sea wall between Teignmouth and Dawlish alongside the famous Brunel railway. Walk rating: Distance - 9 miles (moderate), Terrain - a few steep ascents at the start of the walk (moderate difficulty), walk is along a coastal path. Public Transport: Meet at 8:45am at Exeter St Davids to catch the 9:01am train to Dawlish. We will then catch the 9:17 bus to Maidencombe Cross. You will need to purchase a Return train ticket to Dawlish and a Single bus ticket to Maidencombe Cross. The cost of these should amount to no more than £10. We aim to return to Exeter by 18:30. Before the walk: Make sure to bring a packed lunch and at least 2 bottles of water, we are unable to stop en-route for food or other supplies. Remember to wear strong, sturdy hiking boots or shoes. A waterproof layer and sunscreen is also recommended, as well as an extra sweater or hat for warmth.
