The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy following six quirky adolescents as they compete in their local spelling bee, guided by three equally quirky adults. The plot centers on the trials and tribulations faced by each child, and their reasoning for competing in the bee. As the musical goes on, spellers begin to be eliminated, until only one winner remains! An interesting and exciting element of the musical is the incorporation of improvisation, and audience participation. The show is a story of friendship, failure, love and the struggles of growing up, placed within a wonderful score and hilarious script.
