Introduction to Willow Weaving 4 Week Course This Spring learn a new craft and make some fun decorations for your home and garden. Your tutor will take you through some of the basic techniques for creating woven willow structures. Each week you will learn a new skill and build on the previous weeks’ learning, creating new items each week. This course is suitable for those who are new to willow weaving as well as those who want to refresh their skills. Week 1: Learn Dolly weave to create 3 ‘bullrushes’ Week 2: Use your Dolly weave skills to create a more complex, dragonfly/butterfly, garden ornament. Week 3: Practice what you have learnt and make woven bird feeder. Week 4: Learn to make a basket base and use random weave to create a series of ornaments based on floral shapes. This course is aimed at beginners. All materials provided. SESSION DATES Tuesdays | 6pm – 8.30pm Tue 25 Mar Tue 01 Apr EASTER BREAK Tue 22 Apr Tue 29 Apr COURSE TUTOR: Belinda Martin Sculptor, designer and climate activist inspired by natural materials to create beautiful items, stimulate connections between people and enthuse hope through creativity. Belinda studied Fine Art in South Africa, Interior decor and design at Plymouth College of Art and Design and has worked internationally as a Climate campaigner in schools, community groups. She is passionate about food and always strives to know more about sustainable solutions which symbiotically work with nature for the greater good of the earth and all its inhabitants. Workshop attendees get 10% off all food and hot drinks at the Café Bar.
