About

Women-led startups deliver more than twice as much revenue per dollar invested compared to male-led startups – and yet they receive less than 3% of venture capital funding (Harvard Business Review, 2021). The 2022 Women’s Rugby World Cup final was watched live by a record breaking 42,000 people at Eden Park in New Zealand – but only 4 of the 12 teams in the tournament were fully professional. Gender diversity has been shown to increase company revenue, innovation and productivity, but significant barriers to inclusion and equity still exist for women and gender diverse groups. In this panel, we will explore the business case for gender diversity across the worlds of sport and business, hearing from female leaders about how they are overcoming barriers and tapping into commercial opportunities in their fields.
