Illustrative Drawings: Documenting Trails of London

Ever wondered how to produce an illustration of yourself? Or of your local coffee shop? Illustrative Drawings: Documenting Trails of London, focuses on providing opportunity for participants to learn how to produce observational line drawings through the form of illustration. Session one will focus on participants creating a composition of their own images based on documenting their Trails within London. Participants will therefore need to bring up to four printed images of their choice, either taken by themselves and or collected from magazines/newspapers. Once, the composition has been created, the participants will begin to produce observational drawings of their outcomes using line solely. Workshop two promotes opportunity to delve further into creating accurate observational line drawings, alternative mark making processes and what a successful composition consists of. At the end of both sessions, participants will have a completed artwork focusing on illustrating their ‘Trails within London’. Throughout both sessions, there will be opportunity to ask questions and one to one guided support whilst creating the artwork. Workshop tutor Tugce Karapinar is a mixed media artist, practising and exhibiting in London, United Kingdom. Karapinar’s artistic practice focuses on exploring trails of London through line drawings and documenting natures elements through digital drawings on Photoshop, Photography, Painting and Screen Printing. More recently, Karapinar showcased her artwork at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
