Join THUNDERTHUMBS to celebrate the great Soul and Funk songs of George Benson, Quincy Jones, George Duke, Michael Jackson, Jeffrey Osborne and The Brothers Johnson with ‘Thunderthumbs’. The 10 piece Band led by top UK Session bassist Phil Mulford plays the hits and more in an evening of funky bass lines created by Louis Johnson, the great US bassist. Come on down for an evening of classic songs and great grooves. The set-list includes cuts from throughout Louis’ career from his time with Billy Preston in 1972 through to The Brothers Johnson and Quincy Jones produced hits he played on, songs like George Benson’s ‘Love X Love’, Quincy Jones tracks ‘The Dude’, ‘Ai No Corrida’ and Michael MacDonald’s ‘I Keep Forgettin’. From his own group The Brothers Johnson you will hear ‘Strawberry Letter 23’, ‘I’ll Be Good To You’ and ‘Stomp’ amongst many others.
