Freedom Society is delighted to announce that for our speaker event next week we'll be joined by Carl Benjamin and Connor Tomlinson from the Lotus Eaters podcast for a talk and then Q&A. Carl Benjamin, who many of you might know better by his online pseudonym 'Sargon of Akkad', rose to prominence as a free-speech activist on YouTube. An outspoken critic of identity politics, Benjamin is a champion of English Liberalism, pushing back against the ideological subversion of liberal society. Benjamin's channel amassed nearly one million subscribers and over half a billion views before he was shadowbanned in 2019 by YouTube and Google for wrongthink. Connor Tomlinson used to work in the think-tank world, co-founding the British Conservation Alliance and publishing a research paper, “It’s Easy being Green”, with the ASI, which played a large role in the formation of the Nuclear Energy Financing Bill of 2022. Now, he is presenter and podcast host at LotusEaters.com, a political commentator for GB News and TalkTV, and has written regular columns for the Global Warming Policy Foundation, C3 Solutions Magazine, and The American Spectator. Carl and Connor will be joining us to talk about their experiences working in political media and how they think things have changed, and will change in the future.
