In line with our recent poll...our next debate will be on Rogue States!
Tuesday 23rd May, 6.30pm-9pm, Matrix Lecture Theatre, The Business School
A definitionally challenging concept, rogue states are characterised by their defiance of international norms: disregarding human rights, supporting terrorist or non-state actors, and pursuing weapons of mass destruction.
The challenging of international norms by rogue states poses a large threat to global security as they remain unpredictable, and often hostile towards cooperative processes.
Whether to take a strict approach, through sanctions and isolation, or address the root cause of their rising, through negotiation and humanitarian considerations, is a highly contested debate in the United Nations.
What will our outcome be? You will have to be there to find out!
See you there!
