This music wasn’t intended for the great concert halls of today, but for the intimate setting of Parisian and London Salons of the aristocracy. This was the setting where Chopin felt most at ease and improvised many of his works for the first time. Featuring Daniel Grimwood (Piano)Programme The programme will last for an hour and will include many of Chopin's finest works, selected from his many Nocturnes, Ballades, Studies, Polonaises and other works Concert pianist, Daniel Grimwood, enjoys a solo and chamber career which has taken him around the globe, performing in many of the most prestigious concert platforms, including the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Purcell Room in London an many more. As editor and writer Daniel is currently preparing editions of John Field and Adolph von Henselt for Edition Peters, and his book about the Etudes of Adolph von Henselt has been met with enthusiasm. Daniel regularly performs on live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, and has been featured in BBC Four’s TV documentary series “Revolution and Romance”.
