Join us for an exciting event with Exeter's next MP, Steve Race!
Steve will be standing as the Labour candidate at the next General Election, succeeding Sir Ben Bradshaw, who has been the city's MP since 1997. Steve has been a steadfast campaigner here in Exeter for 15 years and previously stood as the parliamentary candidate in East Devon at the 2015 election. Now, he is determined to fight for an inclusive and fair Exeter - where everyone has the opportunity of a warm and secure home and no-one is forced into homelessness; where people can get a decent well-paid job, put food on the table, and access the best education for their kids.
We are very fortunate to have Steve as such a great supporter of the society and you'll have the opportunity at this event to ask him questions about the issues that matter to you. As part of the society's welcome week, this event will be open to all students, regardless of whether you have purchased a membership or not. We hope this event will encourage you to join our fantastic society and come to many more great events!
Afterwards, we will head to The Ram for some drinks and we'll ensure there are walking buses home to fresher halls and to off-site accommodation.
The venue is fully accessible with access to lifts and ramps but please do let us know in advance if there is anything else that can be done to make this event more accessible. A visual guide of how to get to the venue will be available on the day of the talk.
