AN EVENING WITH BUDDY HOLLY

Buddy Holly was a singer with few equals apart from Elvis. The young Texan played his heart out to huge audiences and had them dancing and screaming throughout his shows. Every song was a winner and all have lasted the test of time and been an inspiration to many who followed him, in particular The Beatles. The Beatles were influenced in a big way by Buddy Holly. Paul McCartney being a fan of the man and owning his publishing rights, decided to organise a Buddy Holly Week (from September 7th to 14th) to remember and celebrate Buddy's life. This would become a yearly event, always starting on September 7th, organised until 1999.
