About

Buddy Holly was a singer with few equals apart from Elvis. The young Texan played his heart out to huge audiences and had them dancing and screaming throughout his shows. Every song was a winner and all have lasted the test of time and been an inspiration to many who followed him, in particular The Beatles. The Beatles were influenced in a big way by Buddy Holly. See this link where Paul McCartney explains why Buddy Holly influenced the Beatles much more than Elvis. https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/paul-mccartney-buddy-holly-impacted-beatles-more-elvis.html/ Paul McCartney arranged an event on September 7th, 1976 when Buddy Holly would have been 40 years old. Paul McCartney being a fan of the man and owning his publishing rights, decided to organise a Buddy Holly Week (from September 7th to 14th) to remember and celebrate Buddy's life. This would become a yearly event, always starting on September 7th, organised until 1999. See https://www.the-paulmccartney-project.com/1976/09/1st-buddy-holly-week/ Spencer Jordan has performed his great Buddy Holly tribute show at venues all over the country to large audiences. This is one not to miss at the Hub. Oh Boy! That’ll be the day on Sunday September 10th. He’ll start singing all the great Buddy Holly songs at 7pm and we’ll have a large dance floor. Tickets are £10 in advance and OTD and can be purchased via the 'GET TICKETS' button or you can reserve by calling/texting the BOX OFFICE on 07770 636303.
