Refugee Rhythms presents: Rogue Siesta Dr Fat Lip VORA and Esther Hyde 7 HILL ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After 2 fantastic movements DJ nights, we are back with what we do best: join us for the return of Refugee Rhythms, our live music night that raises money for fantastic Sheffield-based charities that support local asylum seekers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rogue Siesta: Rogue Siesta are a Sheffield based group of musician friends who’ve pooled their combined Reggae, Indie, Rock, Blues, Punk, and Ska influences, resulting in an unmissible sound which you can't help but dance to! With a fiery three-piece brass section and rhythms to get down to, tight arrangements and blazing improvisation meld to ensure the party never stops. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7 HILL are a Sheffield based collective that will be running you through a varied range of groovers to help close out the night. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As ever, all profit from the night will be going to Sheffield-based charities that form an essential part of the Asylum Seeker and Refugee support network within the city - please do check out their work below and get in touch with either us or them if you'd like to find out more or get involved. Conversation Club & Women’s Conversation Club: Provide a safe, social space for asylum seekers and refugees to meet, have coffee, share stories and practise English. The clubs are run by volunteers on a weekly basis. South Yorkshire Refugee Law And Justice SYRLJ provide legal advice and support to asylum seekers who have had their claims for asylum in the UK refused by the Home Office, and help to put together fresh evidence together to take before a court. Funding goes towards paying for caseworkers, interpreters and other costs.
