About

“Ladies and gentlemen, you are about to see a story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery, and treachery. All the things we hold near and dear to our hearts.” Roxie Hart wants to be famous. Roxie Hart wants to be loved…but most of all Roxie Hart doesn't want to be executed. After shooting her faithless lover in roaring twenties Chicago, Roxie, Velma Kelly and the “Merry Murderesses” of the Cook County Jail vie for the spotlight and headlines, ultimately joining forces in pursuit of the American Dream: fame, fortune and acquittal. With legendary numbers including ‘All that Jazz’ and the 'Cell Block Tango’, a dazzling score that inspired the choreography of Bob Fosse and a litany of notorious characters from the infamous Billy Flynn to the rapacious Mamma Morton, Chicago is a musical of epic proportions. Founded in 1989, Edinburgh University Footlights is one of the largest student-run musical theatre companies in Scotland. We annually produce the largest scale production of the University's theatrical calendar alongside a multi-talented Showchoir showcase. We are delighted to bring this production to Edinburgh in February 2020! Please note - We have two styles of seating available – our main seating and cabaret tables. A CABARET TICKET will admit you for a reserved seat at one of our Cabaret Tables at the very front of the theatre. If you are buying CABARET TICKETS for a group we recommend buying all tickets in one so we may reserve you seats together. Tables seat groups of 5. You can buy both individual seats and, for a limited time in January only, you will be able to buy full tables. FULL or CONCESSION tickets are in the Main Seating Area. These seats are unreserved and are on a first come first serve basis.
