Oxford University Gilbert and Sullivan Society is delighted to present a brand new production of The Gondoliers. Set in 2020, we are thrilled to be staging this wonderful and romantic work in a contemporary world of international politics, spin, and intrigue, combined with more than a hint of reality TV… Love is in the air as Marco and Giuseppe Palmieri – the two most fancied gondoliers in the city – reveal that they will select their brides. Finding their true loves, they are then informed that one of them is in fact a king of a South Sea island. All their dreams look like they might come true. However, there’s a catch…
