Summit Presents A R Records: the Launch

The SUMMIT launch party!!! Summit is a brand new club night in Leeds aiming to bring you the finest acts in liquid drum and bass. We are gassed to link up with A R Records for a very special takeover at none other than The Old Red Bus Station on the 25th January. A R Records has been making serious movements down in Bristol specializing in Jungle and Drum and Bass on both digital and vinyl formats. -LINEUP- Exposure https://soundcloud.com/exposurednb Founder and manger of A R Records, Exposure's music career spans nearly 15 years.  Still using the much discussed vinyl format on 3 or more turntables, Exposure DJ sets are full of energy and span the full spectrum of Drum and Bass. With fast lightning and varied mixing, he drops fresh unheard dubplates to classics that you haven’t heard for years. Through hard work and determination, his skills in the studio now match his dexterity in the DJ booth. His debut release 'Delicate Lives' feat Sula Mae / Sacrifice released in 2015 received critical acclaim within the scene, earlier last year 'Regrets' featuring Mark Douglas was released as a vinyl with the track 'Solvent' from Break on the label. Exposure continues to push the music he loves and with a string of releases and label takeovers scheduled for 2018, there is no sign of slowing down. Having only been producing for a year or two, his ideas and sound belie this fact, showing a maturity and class that takes others years to develop.  His ‘Signature Moves EP’ which came out on CIA in 2017 showcase his ability to build meaningful musical hooks, eek out beautiful performances from vocalists and envisage, develop and finish complex yet catchy tracks that have a weight and finish to them that will make these tracks ones to keep coming back to again and again.' Having dedicated hours on his production and mixing alike, Phaction has started to gain a lot of recognition within the scene and has secured bookings at Fabric, Soul in Motion and A R Records nights to name a few. With this momentum and passion that drives him on, 2018 is shaping up to be an exciting time for this young man.  Melinki https://soundcloud.com/dj-melinki Melinki, also known as Sonny Symes, is a DJ & Producer from the South Coast of the United Kingdom. Melinki has a string of successes as a DJ under his belt including winning competitions for Hospitality, Dillinja’s Valve Recordings, Drum and Bass Arena as well as live performances on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Melinki also owns and manages S.T.L Studios where he teaches DJing, music production and hosts regular masterclasses with well known producers. His production has gained attention from the likes of Friction, Roni Size, Erb N Dub & Kasra. With releases on Technique, Renegade Hardware, Skankandbass, Celsius & Emcee Recordings, as well as an arsenal of tracks just waiting to be unleashed, Melinki has made his mark and is only going to make it bigger. The massive 4 track 'Totem EP' with Revaux just landed on A R Records.  Medic MC https://soundcloud.com/the-medic-mc Medic MC is a versatile, London-raised, Bristol-based lyricist/host and a core resident of club night Alternate and A R Records nights. Heavy influence is drawn from hip hop and South London sound system culture, underpinning a broad foundation for his lyrical content. Hosting various, rolling drum & bass/jungle and 140bpm styles are his current forté, highlighted by key 2017 DJ set pairings including Lenzman, Total Science, Serum, Nymfo, Kyrist, as well as numerous appearances on Life.fm. Medic is currently working on a set of various, forthcoming releases with Alternate’s Rygby & Sam Binary, whilst rapidly emerging and gaining respect as one of Bristol’s most talented hosts in the club scene. Residing in Guildford his precise mixing style combined with his consistent track selections brings a unique style of drum and bass to his sets. He will be playing an exclusive jungle set for our launch party! Lebuchy Next up we have Bristol based Lebuchy. He is a very exciting up and coming DJ specializing in jungle and liquid DnB. He has supported the likes of ed solo, Benny Page and Serial Killaz so we are gassed to have him at ORBS.
