Loefah (140 set) / Kahn & Neek / Commodo

We make another foray into the midlands as we return to our favourite Nottingham venue - The Irish Centre. Having assembled possibly the biggest 140 line up we’ve put together in this glorious city we are thrilled to share this one with you all. Up first, one of the fathers of the genre in the form of Loefah. A key figure in dubstep’s inception he played an early role in DMZ as well as being responsible for some of the most iconic riddims in the genre including but not limited to Disco Rekah, Ruffage and Midnight. He’ll be joining us on the night playing a very exclusive 140 set. Not a sight you often see, this isn’t one to be missed! Next up the infallible Kahn & Neek. With their unique Bristol infusion of dubstep and grime they are two of the most creative artists in the genre. One of the few remaining proponents of vinyl they are indisputably amongst the best in the scene. Whilst they are far removed from the epicentre of 140 that is London they have nonetheless forged a sound that ranges from heavy hitting to beautifully melodic and has truly founds its place within dubstep. Rounding off the bill is the producer’s producer and arguably the gem of the dubstep scene. His music is an infusion of melodic hip hop-esque samples and transcendent synths. A key figure for the longevity of 140 and an all round top bloke we can’t wait to be joined by Commodo at this one. ***It is also Neek AND Illidge’s birthday so you are all obliged to bring cake.
