Simultaneous Exhibition with Hou Yifan

CHESS: The celebrity match of the year and YOU can take part in it READ BELOW FOR INFORMATION ON TICKETS Hou Yifan is the current Women's World Number 1 chess player. She is the youngest ever to win the Women's World Chess Championship (16), which she achieved 4 times, in 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2016, and the youngest ever to achieve the title of Women's Grandmaster. Yifan is FIDE-rated 2659, Yifan's other endeavours include her role as Special Adviser of the Commission for Women's Chess (WOM) and member of Chess in Schools Commission (CIS) under FIDE, aiding the promotion of chess to underprivileged children. Yifan is also a popular chess streamer, affiliated with the chess.com Twitch channel. Yifan is a Rhodes Scholar, currently reading an MSc in Education at St Hilda's College. She has been at Oxford over this 2018-2019 academic year and is set to leave at the end of this Trinity term. Yifan has kindly agreed to hold a simultaneous exhibition this THURSDAY 20th JUNE at Christ Church. The event will commence at 7:30PM and finish at 8:30PM, with a recommended 7PM arrival. All entrants must submit the following online form confirming their participation. Entry: All tickets are free. Please select one (1) ticket from the FIXR link and present upon arrival. There will be exactly 24 tickets offered. Anyone obtaining a ticket who fails to attend the event without notifying the organisers / transferring to someone else will be subject to a club fine of £10. This is to ensure opportunities to attend are maximised. The first set of tickets will be released at 9AM on Monday. The second set of tickets will be released at 7PM on Monday. Format: All games must finish within 1 hour. No time controls. Each player must play their move with Yifan arrives at their board immediately. Each player is allowed 2 'skips' during the game, with an additional 'skip' provided after 30 moves. When the majority of players have been eliminated, clocks shall be introduced.
