MoJo Edinburgh Presents ~ A Diamond Dogs Session ~ Lewis McLaughlin with Support

In collaboration with MoJo Edinburgh, Lewis McLaughlin will perform his first hometown headline show in over two years. The first Diamond Dogs Session since 2020's sellout, Lewis and his band will be performing his recently released singles, ’Summer’ and ‘Whole’, as well as a selection of previously recorded and new unheard music. Lewis will be supported by Hector Shaw - a previous headliner of the Diamond Dogs Sessions whose 2021 EP 'Gravity' garnered critical acclaim from BBC Scotland, The Scotsmen & The National. Hosted at The Caves, one of Edinburgh's most bewitching venues, the night promises to be an unforgettable ode to the emerging talent of the Scottish music scene. A MoJo Edinburgh Production. ~ Inspired by the likes of John Martyn and The Villagers, Edinburgh-born Lewis McLaughlin began writing and recording songs in his childhood. He has performed across Europe in various outfits, accompanying his father at folk shows and playing with his brother in a folk duo before going solo. Lewis performed at Folkest Festival in Italy, and showcased at Celtic Connections in 2019. He currently lives in Glasgow, recording new music at 312 in the city with Andy Monaghan (Frightened Rabbit), the results of which will be released through Andy's Monohands Records. Since joining forces with Monohands Records, Lewis has been working on his debut album and evolving his musical style. The creative collaboration has taken his craft to anew and unique place that blends indie, folk, art and pop. ~ ‘Summer’, the new single from Lewis McLaughlin, is a testament to the simple joys of being young, having few cares in the world, whatever the weather. It brings musical escapism - asking us to leave our worries in the house and enjoy a moment with others in the sun. Written on the road, 'Whole' is an acknowledgement of difficult moments, recognising the finite highs of adrenaline which come with touring, with the closely following lows and comedowns.
