La Rumba: Optimo (Espacio), Kahn + Neek

As our time in Sheffield draws to a close and our future plans remain uncertain, we're closing off our 2018/19 event series at Yellow Arch Studios with nothing short of a masterclass from two legendary duos in their own right. Optimo (Espacio) - 4.5 Hour Set With almost 60 years combined experience in music, JD Twitch and Jonnie Wilkes have grown with the evolution of music over the years. Starting with electro, rock, punk-funk, reggae and jazz in the eighties, to the hip-hop and house & techno era in the 90s when Optimo started as a club night at Twitch's legendary Glasgow club, Pure, the pair have experienced it all and grown into one of dance music's favourite yet formidable duos. With a 4.5-hour set to play with, where they'll take it is anybody's guess. Kahn + Neek - 3 Hour Set In the warehouse, hosted by DUB SHACK, we welcome dubstep pioneers, Kahn + Neek, aka Gorgon Sound, for a 3-hour set of strictly-heaters. Raised on reggae, dub, dubstep & DnB in Bristol, the pair move between styles effortlessly. Their on-point vinyl-only and dubplate-heavy DJ sets and aggressive approach to production has garnered worldwide attention and respect from the scene's best. Expect quite literally anything and everything in between House/Techno/Disco/Leftfield/Electronic/World/Afro/Jazz/Dubstep/Grime/DnB/Dub.
