Caius Diversity Day

I would like to cordially invite you to Caius's first Diversity Day (or rather evening but that didn't sound aesthetic x), which will aim to create a forum for discussion and understanding on a platform that will reduce the disconnect between culture societies, College spaces and members of the University that have not had the chance to navigate identity in either of these spaces. For an evening, Caius will host various culture societies and will showcase art, literature, food and dress from around the world. The evening will also feature various workshops that address how we explore identity, including a drama-therapy workshop that will practically examine how we navigate spaces as a minority. Diversity, in practice, goes far beyond just admitting 5 BME students instead of 3 – that underscores the basic principle of accessibility, which Colleges have, to some extent, realised. Hopefully this event will make the forum for understanding what Diversity means more cohesive, even if in a small way, and will be the beginning of College's capacity in creating a space for these discussions.
