About

Ed Solo Firing up the bassbins and hitting you hard with a dose of raggamuffin junglist energy is what Ed Solo is all about. From Glastonbury to Canada's Shambhala, from dirty Brixton back rooms to Spanish arenas, Ed has travelled the globe throwing down his unique brand of ruffneck bassline bravado for more than a decade. Ed's knack for the rudest of hooks is equalled only by his sublime studio skills. He cut his teeth in the mid '90s engineering at the notorious SOUR Records studios, going on to lay down a series of groundbreaking collaborations with jungle kingpin DJ Brockie. In 2007 Ed released ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ alongside Skool of Thought, featuring ‘When I Was A Yout’ and ‘We Play The Music’ among others. A 10th anniversary remix package drops in 2017. Ed’s partnership with Jungle Cakes partner in crime Deekline has thrown up some of the most memorable tunes of the decade. The pair recently mixed the chart-topping 5th edition of their Welcome to the Jungle series. Deekline Since his debut release ‘I Don’t Smoke’, which became a UK Garage anthem, and a UK Chart hit in 1999, London DJ and producer Deekline has had an illustrious career, working with some of the biggest names in dance music across the globe. Today, reigning in a new era, Deekline delivers yet another belter, a re-work of the Mary J Blige classic ‘Be Happy’. Taking Blige’s sublime and optimistic lyrics, Deekline injects fresh energy, turning up the house and rave vibes, transforming ‘Be Happy’ into a dance floor ready future classic. Making his mark on the global electronic landscape early on in his career, Deekline has collaborated with some of the biggest names in electronic music, including DJ Fresh, Wiley, Jack Beats, and Krafty Kuts and remixing tracks for the likes of Armand Van Helden, Old Dirty Bastard and Drumsound & Bassline Smith. With his debut ‘I Don’t Smoke’ soaring to #11 on the UK singles chart, he has been credited as a the godfather of breakstep, and further paving the way for both Dubstep, and Grime scenes in London. Marking the first of many new records coming from this talented producer, ‘Be Happy’ is the perfect re-introduction for Deekline. Managing to effortlessly balance his production with its vibey, upbeat re-styling, whilst maintaining all the original swag from Queen MJB. ‘Be Happy’ is out now on 3Beat. Benny Page Music has always been a big part of Benny's life, but it really started making an impact on him when he discovered hip-hop at the age of 11; artists such as DJ Premier, Mobb Deep, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog and Nas influenced Benny in a big way. Benny's growing passion for music lead him to his school band in which he played the drums and learned the guitar. He discovered Jungle at the age of 14 and being in his band did not seem enough for him musically, jungle music triggered an awakening in him and a growing thirst to make his own music. Tunes such as The House crew's Super Hero, A-Zone's Calling All the People and Worries in the Dance on London Someting Records were seminal tunes. Before long Benny was learning to use a sequencer on his dad's PC. At the age of 16 Benny began a 2 year music technology course, for him, making music become an addiction, phoning in sick all the time to his part time job so he could live and breath beats. Realizing that this was far more than a hobby, Benny soon realized the only way to put his all into this and progress was if he invested in some quality equipment, so, Benny began working full time. His first break came from the South London based label, Cutterz Choice bringing his first tune, Chainsaws, to wax. This was followed by the succes of Addictive which was rinsed by the likes of Nicky Blackmarket, Brockie and Ash Attack.
