This one day course will offer an introduction to the institutional donors landscape and proposal writing for institutional donors. A pre-course survey will be sent around to ensure that the content is tailored to your learning requirements. This course will help you to: - Assess the costs and benefits of institutional donor fundraising for your organisation - Use project planning techniques and concepts to design and plan a solid funding proposal in the donor format - Identify key factors that can help your proposal be successful - Suggested participant preparation There will be a short pre-training questionnaire to complete. Participants are invited to bring their own proposals to work on. Trainer profile Rachel has been working in the international development NGO sector since 1994, during which time she has been successfully applying to, and managing large grants from institutional donors to fund international development, including DFID, European Commission, and numerous large foundations. Previously Head of Resources for an international development NGO, she is now Director of Flamingo, a consultancy offering services in funding, learning and management to international NGOs (see more at www.flamingo.org.uk). Since 2012 she has worked with over 45 international NGOs in this capacity, on any and all aspects of institutional donors, including leading bids, fundraising strategy, donor research and intelligence and coaching and training. A strong believer in collaboration within the international NGO sector, she is active in the UK’s Bond network of UK NGOs, and is a Bond associate and regular trainer.
