Willow Insects with Jane Fletcher
Saturday 7 June, 10am - 1pm
Discover the magic of willow and make a large ‘Bounce and Fly’ flying insect on a supportive metal frame to place in the garden.
A creative workshop full of possibilities for making a unique, interactive garden decoration. You will get a feel for working with wonderful willow and be able to experiment and learn about the different types of willow with varying colours and textures. Learn some basic free-weaving techniques to create an insect of your choice: Dragonflies, Butterflies, and Bees Galore!
Jane Fletcher has 18 years of willow working experience and is the founder of Easterhill Nursery, Starcross. Passionate about natural materials, rural craft and engaging others, her workshops are creative and relaxed, creating a perfect space to skill share.
This workshop is suitable for adults and young people aged 14+, and takes place outside – please dress appropriately for the weather time of day. The morning will include a pause for a short walk in the beautiful surroundings of organicARTS (fingers crossed for the weather!) – please wear suitable footwear and feel free to bring a snack.
