To get us all ready for some track, our amazing Track Captain Kathryn is going to run a session down at Torbay Velopark for those of us who want to give it a go!
Been as Torbay is a bit of a trek away, we recommend getting the train with your bike. It's not a proper velodrome, but hopefully the session should give you an idea of how it all works! You will have to pay to gain access to the Velopark but it's only £3.70. They do have bikes available to hire there as well.
This is for all abilities of track - whether you're experienced at riding in circles or just curious! It will also be a great place to chat to Kathryn about her plans for track this year!
IMPORTANT:
-> Please ensure that your bicycle is in good working order
-> Bring your own tools if possible, (e.g. spare innertube, allen keys etc...)
-> Dress sensibly. One thing you'll quickly realise is that good weather in Exeter is not guaranteed, so make sure to check the forecast beforehand!
-> Bring plenty of snacks and hydration. There will likely be a cafe stop, but try not to rely on this.
-> WEAR A HELMET, or you won't be riding with us!
Hopefully everything is covered here, but if you have any questions shoot us an email at [email protected] , or send us a DM on Facebook: (University of Exeter Cycling Club) or Instagram: @exeterunicyclingclub.
