ToneSketches

(Tone/Play)Sketches... Existing works in film, popular & classical music are reimagined as outlines that are spontaneously filled in by the piano and cello. These ‘playful sketches’ include fresh reinterpretations of, and improvisations on famous themes and songs spanning different styles of music. Composers such as Joe Hisaish, Astor Piazzolla, as well as music from La La Land, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Wizard of Oz. Classical masterpieces by Chopin and Rachmaninoff are also included, alongside original compositions by Joshua Pietersen and Cornél Engelbrecht. The selected music will also provide an opportunity for improvisation as music is meant to be 'played,' and we are ready with our proverbial crayons.
