The SB Experience: Sharing Common Ground
Where music, stories, and conversation connect us.
The final event in The SB Experience series brings us back to what matters most—community and meaningful dialogue.
As part of Sarah Blake’s unique listening party series, this event weaves together conversation and music, creating a multi-dimensional experience that brings her songs to life. Throughout the afternoon, Sarah will share the backstories behind her songs and perform pieces that connect directly to the themes of this event—community, communication, and understanding.
We begin with a talk and performance from the Masi Violin Outreach, led by organiser Nadiah Mony, along with insights from Athene of The Sewing Café—two incredible outreach programmes making a difference in Masiphumelele.
Through their stories, we’ll explore the power of creativity, education, and opportunity in building stronger communities.
Then, we shift into a transformative workshop with Jacqueline Roche, a specialist in Nonviolent Communication, restorative dialogue, and conflict resolution. Through interactive exercises, she will guide us in discovering deeper ways to listen, express, and connect with one another.
Afterward, stay for drinks, snacks, and open space to connect—a chance to reflect, share, and continue the conversation in a welcoming atmosphere.
Come for the music, stay for the stories, and leave with something deeper.
