About

Join The Courtauld Spotlight for an ‘In-Conversation’ panel with three ‘Practitioners’ whose approach to creativity sets out an alternative model of art-production, for which we can compare to the contemporary art circulated and sold today. Our panel shall include: George Garry (he/him) BA Illustration (AUB), Louise Furley (they/them) BA Illustration (AUB); and Evelyn Smith (she/her) BA Modelmaking (AUB). Moderator: Noah N.B Smith, second-year BA Art History (The Courtauld) Together their work stretches from short films, children’s recipe books and architectural models, and apart their work reveals differing paths that navigate in-between terms such as ‘Craftsmen’ and ‘Artist’. We intend to discuss their respective industries, creative practice, career opportunities, and ultimately their portfolios. This panel will be entirely conversational and will start and end with a glass of wine. Photos and Testimonials are welcome, however, recording is prohibited. We urge you to see this as an opportunity to engage with the next generation of creatives and to contextualise your art historical interests with contemporary creative practices and perspectives. -Open to All-
