Scratch Night This event has been rescheduled from Tue 11 Feb 2025 A bunch of local theatre makers, comedians, dancers, musicians, actors and clowns are going to try some new things – and you’re invited to experience it. Join us as we sample the delights of a smorgasbord of bold, fresh, new work in progress performances. It’s the first crucial part of a journey for the acts and a left-field night like no other for the audience. Our promise to you: This’ll be… Unpolished. Random. Uproarious. Vulnerable. Inspired. Awkward. New. Joyous. LINE UP Scroll Arc Theatre: Bound by the Wind Experience the transformative journey of a deified warrior reclaiming her lost humanity. Age guidance: 16+ Content warnings: Contains intense stage combat, brief violent imagery, and mature themes. Four of Swords: Whispers of Wōden A spectacular retelling of Anglo Saxon myth, told with magical rituals, cryptic illustrations and captivating puppetry! Age guidance: 12+ Content warnings: Reference to historical fantasy violence. Riversmeet: The Ocean Can Be a Bridge Exeter’s lost history – political impact and personal dilemmas in the fight against slavery Age guidance: 16+ Content warnings: as the central character is escaped slave Frederick Douglass, the play has references to slavery, violence and sexual violence. This is only in dialogue, not actions on the stage. Rosalie Roger-Lacan and Alice Bebber: Death, Cheddar and Other Urgent Matters Searing, funny, intimate, and urgently alive—even in death, the show must go on.
