About

The ONRS invites you to a special evening of music honouring the spirit of Nicholas Roerich (1874–1947), a renowned Russian painter, philosopher, and cultural advocate. Best known for his breathtaking Himalayan landscapes and his efforts to promote peace and cultural unity, Roerich championed the idea of bridging Eastern and Western traditions. This concert celebrates Roerich's life and legacy, focusing on his time in India and his passion for cultural exchange. The performance will weave together Indian and Russian musical elements, highlighting the harmony Roerich envisioned between East and West. The evening will feature a Russian oud player and an Indian opera singer, blending traditional Indian and Russian motifs to transport the audience to the mystical landscapes Roerich so vividly captured in his art and writings. We look forward to seeing you there!
