Welcome Week Walk 2: Okehampton Circular

Meet Time: at 10:25 outside the entrance to Exeter St. David's train station Length and rating: 8.5 miles (moderate), terrain - moderate (challenging terrain with an ascent through the first half the walk) Public Transport: Please purchase a 10:37 off-peak open return to Okehampton, this can be done online e.g. gwr.com, on the GWR app, or at the station itself Explore rugged North Dartmoor with us in our first Dartmoor hike of the year! An 8.5 mile circular hike that'll take us from Okehampton, along the East Okement River, up West Mill Tor (541m) where you can expect some decent views (and usually plenty of wind) and back again. Before the walk: Make sure to bring a packed lunch and at least 2 bottles of water, we are unable to stop en-route for food or other supplies. Remember to wear strong, sturdy hiking boots or shoes. A waterproof layer and sunscreen is also recommended, as well as an extra sweater or hat for warmth.
