About

St Catharine's Politics Society looks forward to welcoming Rt Hon Amber Rudd and Suzanne Raine from Cambridge’s Centre for Geopolitics, to discuss the impact of the recent US election on the UK and on an international scale. Amber Rudd was the Conservative MP for Hastings and Rye between 2010 and 2019. During her time in Parliament she held three cabinet roles under three Prime Ministers, most prominently as Home Secretary between 2016 and 2018. She has since moved to the private sector, working primarily in energy and cyber security. Suzanne Raine served in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office between 1995 and 2019, working on national security and counter-terrorism and holding postings in Poland, Iraq and Pakistan. She is currently a Visiting Professor at King’s College London’s Department of War Studies and an Affiliate Lecturer at the Cambridge Centre for Geopolitics. The event consists of a drinks reception and a discussion with our two guests. Please come with questions prepared as this as In-Conversation-With event.
