Bundee Aki is a professional rugby union player known for his powerful presence as a member of the Irish rugby squad. Originally from New Zealand, Aki initially played for the Counties Manukau team in New Zealand's domestic rugby competitions before being picked up by the Chiefs in Super Rugby. His robust performances caught international attention, and in 2014, he made a pivotal move to Connacht Rugby in Ireland, where he became a key player. Aki's commitment to Connacht and his impactful play helped lead the team to a Pro12 title in 2016 and eventually became eligible to represent Ireland in international rugby. He made his debut for the Ireland national team in 2017 and quickly established himself as a central figure in their midfield. Known for his hard-hitting defense and powerful ball-carrying, Aki has played a crucial role in Ireland’s Six Nations campaigns and Rugby World Cup appearances.
Aki is celebrated for his leadership on and off the field, his work ethic, and his strong connection with teammates. His journey from New Zealand to becoming one of Ireland's most prominent rugby players underscores his adaptability and determination to excel at the highest levels of the sport.
