Welcome to SYTERIA WORLD. A realm of colourful, pounding and punked-melodic rock that is occupied by Yorkshire -bred band Syteria, who descend down south this coming Fri Dec 13th
Formed by Jackie ‘Jax’ Chambers, of the legendary UK rockers Girlschool, alongside Argentine siblings Julia and Pablo Calvo, and Steph Dawson, with previous albums Rant-O-Bot and Reflection, and a host of tours and festival appearances, Syteria have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with.
The Syteria sound mixes elements of modern pop/punk energies with more contemporary rock anthemic choruses, incorporating four-part harmonies and using the ancient Solfeggio scale of recording in 432hz, instead of the standard 440hz, to leave you feeling in tune with the universe.
Gypsy Pistoleros may be best described as being the ideal house band for the fictitious Titty Twister bar of Rodriguez’s From Dusk Til Dawn. Between the nods to Morricone’s tense, tumbleweed atmospheres and the Gypsy Kings’ manic Mediterranean energy, a New York Dolls raw glam spark and a surplus of prime G ’n’ R attitude!
The sound is unique, a collision of Glam punk/rock riffs, Latin swagger, Heavy heavy riffs, to near EMO/Goth to near anthemic proportion, with pounding bass and thrashing drums. The songs span madly in the best rock 'n' roll tradition with big hooks, attitude, and sleaze. Yet those latin breaks got into your head and refused to leave - this hybrid rocks.
Alongside Bristol based “Metallised” who bring their hard hitting tunes balancing out the evening.
