About

Curious about what the Guild’s been up to? Wondering how we’re working to make student life better? Join us for an evening of updates, ideas, and conversation – all with free food and a glass of bubbles* on us! Who are we? We are your Students’ Guild, here to help you LOVE Exeter. We’re all about making sure you get the most out of your uni experience. We’re led by students, for students like you. That’s why, every year, we have our AGM as one way to ensure students know how we’re supporting them and have a chance to feedback on what we spend our money on. Why attend? Whether you’re just discovering what the Guild is all about or you already know us inside out, this event has something for you. - Ask questions: Meet our officers, trustees and staff teams to learn about the work they do to support you and your fellow students. Share your thoughts on what we can do better. - Make connections: Chat with staff and students and learn how you can make the most of your time at Exeter. - Shape the future: Thinking about running in the student elections or leading a society or initiative? Gain an understanding of how the Guild works to help you prepare for your campaign. What will we talk about? Topics to be covered in the initial presentation will include ratification of the AGM 2023 minutes, a report from the trustees, presenting the financial accounts, approving the Guild’s affiliations, and open questions to the trustees. Following the presentation, students are invited to explore Devonshire House and meet with our trustees, officers, and staff teams. If you have any questions about this event, get in touch ([email protected])! The AGM (also called the Student Members’ Meeting) will be run in accordance with our Articles and Byelaws and will be chaired by one of our Guild Accountability Board members. Accessibility We’re committed to making this event as inclusive as possible. Here’s what to expect: - Food and drink: Complimentary refreshments will be available, catering to a range of diets, including meat, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Both alcoholic and alcohol-free beverages will be served. - Facilities: The venue features wheelchair access, padded seating, an accessible toilet, a gender-neutral toilet, and a designated quiet space (Exehale). - Parking: General and blue badge parking spaces are available. Please note that a hearing loop and BSL interpreter will not be provided at this event. If you have any specific accessibility needs or questions, feel free to reach out at [email protected] – we’ll do our best to support you.
