Week 9: South Brent to Buckfastleigh or vice-versa

Walk A: From the village of South Brent you'll wander through Dartmoor alongside the River Avon (one of the many) to the picturesque Avon Dam Reservoir, from which you'll further traverse the Dartmoor Way across some hills to finish in the town of Buckfastleigh. For Walk B (Buckfastleigh to South Brent), read everything above backwards (not really but u get the idea). Lengths and ratings: Walk A (SB->B): distance-9.0 miles (moderate), terrain-moderate (it's Dartmoor) Walk B (B->SB): distance-9.0 miles (moderate), terrain-moderate (it's Dartmoor) Please arrive at the Exeter Bus Station for the following times (this week bus tickets are not included, you'll buy them on the bus): - For Walk A and B, arrive to the station for 08:15 to catch the 08:30 bus We aim to return to Exeter by 18:30. Before the walk: Make sure to bring a packed lunch and at least 2 bottles of water, we are unable to stop en-route for food or other supplies. Remember to wear strong, sturdy hiking boots or shoes. A waterproof layer and sunscreen is also recommended, as well as an extra sweater or hat for warmth.
