About

The Carnegie Club of St Andrews is delighted to announce our fourth external event this semester; We will be hosting the U.S. Consul General in Edinburgh, Kathryn Porter in partnership with Tara Phillips. Kathryn Porter assumed her role as U.S. Consul General in Edinburgh in August 2024. Before that, she served as a Senior Operations Management Officer at the State Department Operations Center in Washington D.C. She has also served as a Consul at the U.S. embassy in Moscow. She has also held various Consular positions in Krakow, Toronto, Johannesburg & Tijuana. We will begin with a short introduction from Tara Phillips, followed by the Consul General presenting on the role of cooperation between the U.S. and Europe in addressing the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Finally, we will move on to an interview with members of the Carnegie Club and open the dialogue to audience questions. Please note that all proceeds from this talk will go to Rescue Now, a Ukrainian NGO that helps evacuate civilians and animals from combat zones, helps distribute humanitarian aid in Ukraine, and delivers food and support to Ukrainians affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We look forward to welcoming you there! In addition, we kindly ask you to respect the following basic rules: No bags, No food or drink, Smart casual attire.
