Amy Abdelnoor is a writer and teacher. While studying English and Arabic at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, she reconnected with her Arab family roots, living in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. Later, she lived under Israeli military occupation in the West Bank during the second intifada. Her debut novel Ever Land, which blossomed from the experiences, is being published in Spring 2026 by Penguin Random House. Today, alongside writing, she teaches English at secondary school and co-runs Critical Collective, a women’s group advocating for human rights.
Richard Villar is an author and consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Cambridge. As a former Regimental Medical Officer to the Special Air Service, he has served in over 30 countries, including many major conflict and disaster zones, such as:
* The siege of Sarajevo
* The Falklands War
* North-West Frontier of Pakistan
* Great Earthquake of Kashmir
* Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan
* Gaza during both the 2018 Great March of Return and the 2023/2024 Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Khaled Dawas read Medical Sciences at St John’s College, Cambridge. He is an Hon Associate Professor at UCL and the Director of Gastrointestinal surgery at UCLH. Khaled has travelled to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories on multiple occasions over the last 10 years. He works with the Palestinian medical schools and has extensive experience in the medical education sector. Khaled was part of the first UK Emergency Medical Team into Gaza in December 2023.
