Refugee Rhythms presents...
Movements #4
STAR are back this year with another programme of events to keep you busy! Last year, thanks to every one of you that came to our events, we raised just over £5000 which we were able to donate to local organisations in Sheffield which provide help, support and safety to asylum seekers and refugees, and we're carrying forward with this momentum and we've invited some of your favourite local party starters down to Yellow Arch Studios again.
Expect bassy vibes, with a mix of reggae, dub and jungle!
Line-up:
1KEY Events
Peachy Events
University of Sheffield Reggae Society
SteelSelektions
Powered by Chief Pukka Soundsystem
----------------------------------------------------------------
As ever, all profit from the night will be donated to Sheffield-based charities that form an essential part of the Asylum Seeker and Refugee support network - please do check out their work and get in touch with either us or them if you'd like to find out more or get involved.
Conversation Club & Women’s Conversation Club:
Provide a safe, social space for asylum seekers and refugees to meet, have coffee, share stories and practise English. The clubs are run by volunteers on a weekly basis.
South Yorkshire Refugee Law And Justice:
SYRLJ provide legal advice and support to asylum seekers who have had their claims for asylum in the UK refused by the Home Office, and help to put together fresh evidence together to take before a court. Funding goes towards paying for caseworkers, interpreters and other costs.
