What are the current barriers to true acceptance and diversity? Join us for our second TEDxCambridgeUniversity Society event of the year to hear from a diverse group of speakers and discuss real issues within society over good food and live music.
Special guest at this event include:
-Chris Hemmings, author of 'Be a Man', discussing male stereotypes and the macho persona of his youth that he has since dissociated from
-PC Emma Chapma, a transgender policewoman working in the Essex Police Force
-Ryan Riordan, a 3rd year who converted to Islam 3 years ago, describing the stereotypes he faces, and the interface between culture and religion
-Jun Pang, a 3rd year HSPS student who will be discussing art and poetry as a way of interrupting political stasis
And a special introduction by Danny Baalbaki, a spoken word/rap artist highlighting inequalities within the education system
We look forward to seeing many of you soon for an evening of inspiring discussion over a Greek buffet and some excellent student music!
